Day 1
Singapore
Arrive in Singapore and check in to your accommodation. In the evening, join your group for a welcome dinner and orientation to prepare for the weeks ahead exploring innovation, systems, and sustainability in one of the world’s most advanced urban environments.
Day 2
Singapore
Begin with a guided cultural walking tour that explores Singapore’s history of planning, architecture, and green space. You will visit the Singapore City Gallery and take part in a cultural orientation session that frames the study tour in social and regional context.
Day 3
Singapore
Explore Singapore’s smart transport systems through visits to the Land Transport Authority and a mobility innovation centre. Learn how data, behavioural modelling, and public policy shape efficient and inclusive transit systems.
Day 4

Take part in an academic workshop or site visit focused on energy or waste innovation. You may explore themes such as smart grids, vertical farming, or circular economy design.
Day 5

Tour a national data or cyber security agency to understand how Singapore safeguards its digital infrastructure. In the afternoon, participate in a workshop on ethics, digital governance, or the role of AI in public systems.

Hear from planners or engineers about inclusive design, affordability, and green infrastructure. In the evening, enjoy a cultural experience such as a hawker centre food tour or multicultural arts event.

Visit Gardens by the Bay or a national biodiversity institute to explore how nature and design are integrated in dense cities. In the afternoon, participate in a group discussion or case study session that reflects on planning priorities and urban identity.

Visit a business innovation centre, design consultancy, or co-working lab to hear from professionals working in green finance, health tech, or sustainable design. Gain real-world insight into the ecosystems behind Singapore’s smart city strategy.
Day 10
Singapore → Johor Bahru
Depart Singapore and cross the border into Johor Bahru, Malaysia. After check-in and orientation, you will visit a regional smart development site or industrial park to explore the digital infrastructure shaping the city’s transformation.
Day 11
Johor Bahru
Explore Malaysia’s approach to smart systems, transport planning, or energy use. Visit a public or private sector site where innovation is occurring under a different policy and funding model. In the evening, enjoy a local cultural activity or night market visit.
Day 12
Johor Bahru → Singapore
Before returning, visit a community-led environmental or conservation initiative. Learn how green planning and civic engagement work in a different context. Travel back to Singapore in the afternoon and reflect on your cross-border observations.
Day 13
Singapore
Join a facilitated wrap-up session that brings together key themes from your experience. You may explore future career pathways in sustainable cities or discuss innovations you have encountered. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner with your group.

Check out and prepare for departure. Leave Singapore with a new understanding of how innovation, governance, and design shape the cities of the future.
