Modern Slavery Policy
Introduction
Reho Study Tours is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards across all areas of our business. This Policy outlines our commitment to preventing modern slavery within our operations, programs, and supply chains, in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth).
Modern slavery includes slavery, servitude, forced labour, human trafficking, debt bondage, and deceptive recruitment for labour or services. Reho Study Tours takes a proactive approach to ensure such practices are not present anywhere in our network. Addressing these risks is an ongoing responsibility that demands vigilance, transparency, and collaboration.
We support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Target 8.7 under Goal 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth, which calls for the eradication of forced labour, modern slavery, and human trafficking. Through ethical travel, education, and responsible partnerships, Reho Study Tours contributes to global progress toward sustainable and fair employment.
All responsibilities in this Policy are overseen by the Ethics Team, which ensures consistent application, monitoring, and reporting across all operations and partnerships.
This Policy applies to all employees, contractors, suppliers, agents, participants, and third parties engaged with Reho Study Tours.
Purpose and Scope
The purpose of this Policy is to define Reho Study Tours’ commitment to identifying, preventing, and responding to modern slavery risks. It establishes our organisational responsibilities, due diligence processes, and escalation pathways to ensure accountability and ethical practice across all levels of operation.
We strive to foster partnerships that promote human rights, safe working conditions, and transparent supply chains throughout our global network.
Commitment to Ethical Conduct
Reho Study Tours is unwavering in its commitment to ensuring modern slavery has no place in our business or supply chains. We uphold fair labour practices, respect for human rights, and engagement with suppliers who share our ethical values.
Our Supplier Code of Conduct sets clear expectations requiring compliance with applicable labour laws, the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth), and international human rights standards.
We conduct ongoing due diligence and maintain transparent supplier relationships that promote accountability. Through collaboration with universities, industry partners, and government agencies, we contribute to systemic improvements and collective action against modern slavery in the education and travel sectors.
Supply Chain Due Diligence
We recognise that the risk of modern slavery can exist at multiple tiers of the supply chain. To address these risks, Reho Study Tours undertakes due diligence on all new and existing suppliers, with a particular focus on industries or regions with elevated vulnerability to exploitation.
Our supplier agreements include contractual obligations requiring compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth) and all relevant labour and human rights laws. Suppliers must disclose their sourcing and labour practices and notify Reho Study Tours immediately of any known or suspected breaches.
We conduct regular risk assessments to identify and manage potential exposure to unethical labour conditions. When risks are identified, we prioritise education and corrective collaboration. If a supplier fails to take remedial action, Reho Study Tours reserves the right to terminate the relationship.
Reporting and Response
All employees, contractors, partners, and participants are encouraged to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery. Reports may be made confidentially to the Ethics Team or a senior manager, as outlined in "Contact Information".
Anonymous reports are accepted and reviewed wherever sufficient information is provided.
Reho Study Tours guarantees that all individuals can raise concerns safely and without fear of retaliation. Upon receiving a report, the Ethics Team will conduct an initial assessment, and if necessary, escalate the matter to relevant authorities such as the Australian Federal Police, or the Attorney-General’s Department’s Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Branch.
Where a supplier or partner is implicated, Reho Study Tours will engage constructively to resolve the issue. If corrective action is not taken, the partnership will be discontinued.
A formal grievance mechanism is being developed to enable suppliers and their staff to report ethical concerns confidentially.
Training and Awareness
All employees, contractors, and trip leaders receive training to understand and identify the risks of modern slavery. This training forms part of induction and is refreshed annually.
Training covers risk indicators, reporting procedures, and the importance of maintaining ethical standards across all supply chains and operations. By building awareness, we strengthen collective vigilance and accountability.
Governance and Accountability
The Ethics Team holds overall responsibility for ensuring compliance with this Policy, including supplier due diligence, reporting, and remediation.
Reho Study Tours sets measurable objectives each year to assess progress in identifying, mitigating, and eliminating modern slavery risks. These objectives are reviewed and reported transparently to support continuous improvement.
All employees, contractors, and suppliers are required to comply with this Policy as a condition of engagement. Non-compliance may result in disciplinary action, contract termination, or notification to relevant authorities.
