Our Story

Where Travel Meets Purposeful Education

In 1979, Reho Travel began with a belief that business could be built differently. What started as a small Australian travel company carried a bold idea that travel should be a force for good. Long before sustainability became an industry conversation, Reho was already asking deeper questions about impact, responsibility, and purpose.

That philosophy found a powerful expression in 1984 when Reho partnered with Monash University to deliver its first international study tour. At a time when global learning was far from mainstream, students stepped beyond lecture theatres and into living classrooms where ideas could be explored in real places and real communities. That single program became the foundation of what is now Reho Study Tours, shaping a vision of education that extends far beyond the traditional classroom.

Educational, Ethical, and Enriching by Design

From those early beginnings, one belief has remained constant: meaningful travel changes people. It brings academic ideas into the real world, encourages deeper understanding across cultures, and connects learning with lived experience. Every study tour we design is guided by three principles that ensure travel supports both transformative education and responsible engagement with the communities that host it.

Educational

Learning becomes more powerful when it moves beyond the classroom. Our study tours connect academic theory with real environments, industries, and communities that bring each discipline to life.

Educational

Meaningful travel must also be responsible. We prioritise respectful partnerships with local organisations and communities so that learning takes place through collaboration rather than observation.

Educational

Experiencing new places encourages curiosity and challenges assumptions. Students return home with broader perspectives, deeper empathy, and a clearer understanding of their place in the world.

A Legacy of Learning Through Travel

Over more than four decades, our story has continued to evolve while remaining guided by the same purpose that shaped our beginning. Each milestone reflects our commitment to experiential education, responsible travel, and meaningful partnerships that transform how students learn about the world.

A Different Beginning

Reho Travel was founded in 1979 on the belief that travel could create positive impact. From the beginning, the company asked how travel could contribute to communities, learning, and responsible business.

The First Study Tour

In 1984, our partnership with Monash University launched the first international Reho study tour. This early program introduced an approach to experiential learning that connected academic theory with real world environments.

Living Classrooms

Students moved beyond lecture theatres and into living classrooms across the world. Ideas could be explored firsthand through conversation, observation, and real world engagement.

B Corporation Leadership

Reho Travel became the world’s first B Corporation certified travel management company. This milestone formalised our commitment to accountability, transparency, and responsible business practices.

Purposeful Partnerships

Our programs are built through collaboration with universities, organisations, and communities around the world. These partnerships ensure that learning experiences are grounded in trust, respect, and meaningful exchange.

Expanding Perspectives

More than forty years after that first study tour, the same question continues to guide our work. How can travel expand perspectives and create lasting value for students, communities, and the world they share?

Our Commitment Is Cultural

We do not view sustainability as a checklist. It is part of our culture. Our BCorp certification is not a marketing tool. It is a reflection of how we think, how we lead and how we build for the future.

When you choose Reho Study Tours, you support a business that believes doing good and doing well go hand in hand.
